Global Youth Connect (GYC) brings together youth from around the world to share experiences and exchange ideas in order to develop creative solutions that advance human rights. Over the course of an intensive 3-week program, these exceptional young people learn how to act on human rights issues in collaboration with local organizations and leaders.

In 2012, conferences were held in Rwanda, Bosnia and the United States (NYC). GYC's partners in New York City include: Human Rights Watch, New York City Coalition Against Hunger, Queen's Pride House, Children's Defense Fund, The Floating Hospital, Urban Justice Center, Detention Watch Network, WBAI, Kids Creative, viBe theater eXperience, The YES Center, NYC Commission on Human Rights,WITNESS, and the United Nations.

GYC's Second Annual Youth for Human Rights Gala

Join us for an evening of music, dancing, food and drinks as we celebrate the winner of GYC's 2nd Annual Youth for Human Rights Award (Katy Rubin, Founding Director of Theatre of the Oppressed NYC). Learn to dance salsa, hear the sounds of the fabulous Trio of OZ, and mingle with other NYC-based human rights leaders and changemakers.
